Lessons learned in the garden inspire my work. Each spring my sense of wonder is stimulated as I witness the winter garden transform from dark and absent to exuberant and beautiful. I am a jazz lover too and music helps remind me that beauty is in all. At HealthMoves, my intention is to promote each client’s learning process to support the transformation of pain, stress, and struggles to comfort, joy, and well-being.
In 1982, after 10 years as a physical therapist, I discovered the wonders of the Feldenkrais Method ®. While working in various capacities as a PT- as senior staff therapist at Massachusetts General Hospital, as Director of the Atlanta Back Clinic, as a national lecturer/trainer, in my own Boston clinical practice – I continued to explore my interest in the relationship between movement and healing. Athletics and dance were important avenues of exploration and fun, and when I encountered the Feldenkrais Method, I knew it was the approach I had been searching for. In Boston in 1997, I completed the 4 year training and certification to become a Feldenkrais Practitioner ®. In 1999, I opened a clinical practice, HealthMoves, in Durham, NC.
